UFC wants Rockhold to take on Machida and not Michael Bisping

While most fans and writers of the Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC feel the time is ripe for a grudge match between UFC Middleweights Luke Rockhold and The Count Michael Bisping, the promotion seems to have another plan altogether for the former Strike Force fighter.

Dana White, the president of the UFC recently stated that in all probability, Rockhold will be given a fight against the current top contender for the UFC Middleweight Championship Lyoto Machida despite the bad blood that has been brewing between him and the Englishman.

White stated that anything is possible in the UFC. Bisping is currently ranked at eighth in the UFC Middleweight category whereas Rockhold stands at fifth; they will eventually fight each other in the future but for the moment, Rockhold will have to battle it out against the Brazilian Machida.

He also mentioned that the reason behind choosing Machida over Michael Bisping is that there is a UFC pay per view event scheduled in Brazil for October and that is the slot they are working for with the fight between the two.

The Count called out Rockhold as recently as last week after his win against Cung Le at UFC Fight Night 48. Rockhold also wants to settle their differences inside the Octagon even claiming that he would donate the entire earnings from the fight to the Englishman if he failed to finish him in the first round itself.

Michael Bisping is currently on a run of 3-3, alternating wins with defeats since January 2012 but Rockhold has looked very good in the past couple of matches and many believe the Englishman is there for the taking for the American Kickboxing Academy graduate.

But the UFC want him to put all his grudges on the shelf for now and take on Machida instead.

Scott Hall Is The Final Inductee In The WWE Hall of Fame 2014

Finally the speculations and rumors regarding Scott Hall’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame have turned out to be true. In the recent Raw episode, WWE made an official announcement that Razor Ramon (Scott Hall) is going to be inducted in the Hall of Fame Class of 2014 (WWE)  on the 5th of April, 2014. The event is going to take place in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center and will be telecasted on the network of WWE.

Scott Hall surely deserves to be a part of the Hall of Fame because he has done a lot for the WWE industry and has contributed to it in ways unimaginable. He has survived the problems of extreme alcoholism and drugs in his wrestling career. His talent was highly underrated and he did not get proper recognition throughout his career in spite of participating in extremely important wrestling matches. But it seems that now by getting inducted to the Hall of Fame; Scott Hall has got the necessary recognition he ought to have got much earlier.

Along with Scott Hall, Jake Roberts (The Snake) is also going to be included in the Hall of Fame this year. Jake Roberts has also fought his addictions very strongly just like Scott Hall. Others who are already a part of the Hall of Fame Class are Carlos Colon, Mr. T, Lita, Paul Bearer and The Ultimate Warrior.

Wrestling fans are obviously looking forward to witness the induction speech of Scott Hall as it will give them the opportunity to know what Hall thinks about his successes and failures in not only the WWE business but also in his life in general. Fans are genuinely very excited as the 2014 Class consists of some of the best wrestlers which have promoted the industry in the best possible manner.

Robbie Lawler not dwelling on the past

Robbie Lawler is one fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC who deserves immense credit for turning his career around, especially in his latest stint in the promotion.

He has won three out of his four bouts since he returned to the Octagon in 2013 and although he suffered a narrow decision loss to Johnny Hendricks for the vacant UFC Welterweight Championship, he can still take heart from the fact that he pushed Hendricks all the way.

And with this resurgence, all of a sudden, Lawler is a highly motivated Welterweight at 32 years of age.

Lawler has been fighting in the UFC since he was 20 years old and he has witnessed it all during his 13 year stint as a Mixed Martial Artist. He has been a former Middleweight champion at Elite XC, Icon Sport and Super Brawl but his three years stint at Strike Force didn’t turn out to be that great for his career.

And although he has regrets about not pushing Hendricks hard enough and get things into his own hands, he says he doesn’t want to rely on the past for his future to take shape.

He said that he doesn’t really dwell on the past and all he wants to do is get better because in the end, that is what the results come down to. Lawler knows he did what was necessary but at the same time, he also knows he didn’t do it enough.

Lawler admitted that he did a lot of damage to Hendricks and it as a great fight but he needs to do a lot better in the future if he wants to realize his dream of being a champion in the UFC and to hold the long cherished UFC Welterweight Championship strap over his shoulder.

Vince McMahon looking to buy Newcastle United FC

English Premier League club Newcastle United could be set to become another English club to have a high profile owner if reports emerging from the United States of America are to be believed.

According to sources across the Atlantic Ocean, Vince McMahon, the owner and chairman of the World Wrestling Entertainment or the WWE, is looking into the prospect of buying the Premier League club outright with current owner Mike Ashley ready to cash in on his asset.

Importantly, the sexagenarian came very close to clinching a deal for the Magpies in 2011 as well, but the club had denied those claims at that time, but it seems ready and willing and to pass into the ownership of the McMahon family with Vince McMahon looking to raise the profile of the WWE in Europe with the help of one of the most supported clubs in England.

According to sources close to the WWE boss, he has targeted the North Eastern club as he thinks it will be a good starting point to focus on considering the working class environment of the region and he is looking at improving the idea of entertainment for people in the region as well.

Newcastle United are currently lying in mid table in the Premier League standings after a high flying start to the season but that has petered out somewhat in recent weeks and fans have been extremely unhappy after the sale of star man Yohan Cabaye to cash rich Paris Saint Germain in January.

And if the WWE money does come into the club, it will mean the club will be able to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United in terms of finances and finally mount a challenge on the English title that has eluded them for so long.

Ronaldo Souza says he has what it takes to beat Weidman

Ronaldo Souza was not a well known name in the amateur Mixed Martial Arts circuits but he stormed into Strike Force early in 2003 with some of the best submission skills ever witnessed in the sport and since then, he has always been a force to be reckoned with.

Now, exactly ten years and 23 fights on, the Brazilian has added a stunning straight punch knockout to his already overwhelming armory and the former Middleweight titlist in Strike Force is targeting glory in the UFC.

And speaking in a recent press conference in his home land in Brazil, Souza stated that he believes that he has what it takes to defeat the reigning UFC Middleweight Championship holder Chris Weidman. The Brazilian is highly regarded for his skills in jiu-jitsu and has a black belt in the martial arts form and according to him, his style is perfectly suited to take on and beat anyone, including the American Weidman.

He admitted that many people still doubt his potential but in his opinion, that is how he likes it. He mentioned that he has a lot to prove, adding that he has only had two fights in the UFC but he is ready to show everyone that he is here to stay and fight for the title.

Souza takes on Francis Carmont in February’s UFC Fight Night 36 and he talked of the fight as a grand prix that will determine who gets to fight to become the next challenger to the 185 lbs champion for the title.

Chris Weidman, on the other hand, will defend his belt against the legendary Anderson Silva at UFC 168 with the odds stacked against him and only when the outcome is settled, will Souza know whether he has it in him to be the champion.

Ryback targets Goldberg and The Undertaker

At this moment, World Wrestling Entertainment or WWE wrestler Ryback is feuding with former World Heavyweight champion CM Punk, standing on the side of Paul Heyman. And as one of the protégés of Heyman, Ryback might be in for a huge push once this feud with Punk ends for him. And according to reports, the wrestler himself wants a showdown with Goldberg and also wants to end the unbeaten streak of The Undertaker at Wrestle Mania.

And these dreams aren’t too farfetched for him either. First up, the news concerning the Dead Man, according to Ryback, is that it would be a dream come true scenario for him if he was asked to face him and his streak at the ‘greatest show on earth’. The man himself stated that The Undertaker talked to him about the scenario immediately after Wrestle Mania last year as well.
